Description

  • Administer and process multi-state U.S. payrolls in Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert on payroll-related inquiries, providing high-touch support to employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage payroll audits, including preparation of reports and coordination with internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain data integrity within the Workday system by conducting regular audits, reconciliations, and updates.
  • Stay abreast of changes to federal, state, and local tax laws, and advise leadership on necessary compliance updates.
  • Partner with HR and Finance on employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, promotions, terminations, and compensation adjustments.
  • Drive continuous improvements to the payroll process, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Support ad hoc projects related to HR operations and payroll compliance as needed.

Profile

  • 5-7+ years of progressive payroll experience with a strong focus on U.S. multi-state compliance and reporting.
  • Hands-on Workday payroll system experience is required (including payroll processing, reporting, and data management).
  • Strong understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and benefits-related deductions.
  • Demonstrated success managing payroll audits and partnering with Finance and HR teams.
  • Global
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting global payroll processing is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization is a plus.
