Client Details

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Credit Risk Model Owner at the Associate/AVP level. This position plays a central role in overseeing credit risk models across the Americas portfolio, ensuring they are well‑governed, accurately monitored, fully documented, and aligned with internal standards and regulatory expectations.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out ongoing performance monitoring for credit risk models and update monitoring plans when needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive model inventories and prepare documentation packages, attestations, and related materials.
  • Address findings from validation teams and internal audit, ensuring timely and effective remediation.
  • Partner with global colleagues on the development, enhancement, and refinement of internal credit rating models.
  • Review how models are being used across the business, identifying opportunities to strengthen guidance, training, and documentation.
  • Contribute to improving governance frameworks, process efficiency, and model management standards.
  • Prepare clear and compelling reports or presentations for senior leadership and, when required, regulatory audiences.
  • Guide junior team members and collaborate closely with a wide array of stakeholders.

Profile



What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in model risk, model development, or model validation (credit risk model experience strongly preferred).
  • Solid grounding in statistics, financial mathematics, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree or certifications (CFA/FRM) a plus.
  • Hands‑on skills with analytical and technical tools such as Excel/VBA, SQL, SAS, Python, or similar.
  • Skilled communicator-able to tailor messaging to senior management, auditors, model users, and technical partners.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a track record of managing multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Ability to create polished visual materials that convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Japanese language skills are helpful but not required.

Job Offer

  • Hybrid work model.
  • $85,000 - $130,000 base salary.
