DevOps Team Lead

The ideal candidate is a skilled hands-on Middleware Engineer with a strong background in DevOps to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will manage middleware technologies while also focusing on automating and optimizing our development, deployment, and infrastructure processes. You will work closely with software development, IT operations, Security, and other stakeholders to ensure secure, efficient and scalable systems

Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to organizational policies using the employee handbook, company guidelines, and SDLC procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Document system design solutions, troubleshooting steps and source code using standardized templates provided by business analysts or release managers.
  • Implement software architecture and designs provided by system architects.
  • Develop reliable and scalable system solutions that meet business quality standards and deadlines.
  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment processes and improve infrastructure reliability.
  • Implement and manage containerization platforms, focusing on Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and redundancy across middleware.
  • Collaborate in software releases, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Provide technical guidance to enhance system performance, availability, and scalability

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps and SRE practices
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing middleware on-prem solutions.
  • Strong experience with DevOps tools and technologies, including Docker, Jenkins, Git.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Terragrunt for cloud provisioning.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk).
  • Experience in reverse proxy management and secure networking configurations.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical mentorship.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in Linux administration and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, including load balancers (F5), firewalls and VPNs.
  • Docker and docker-compose
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, Ansible
  • Scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Version control systems: SVN, Git (Bitbucket, GitHub).
  • Monitoring and logging: Nagios, Splunk
  • Application Servers: Apache Tomcat 9/10, IIS
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure.

PREFERED SKILLS:

  • Software architecture principles (Design Patterns, Software Development Lifecycle).
  • Container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Azure technologies: Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Application Gateway.
  • Experience with Azure security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance.
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket pipelines.
  • Monitoring and logging: Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and its implementation.
  • RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS degree in CS or related field with 7 plus years of experience
