Project Manager- Public Projects

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead public-sector construction projects for a well-established general contractor based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role will manage schools, municipal, and federal projects, ensuring successful delivery from preconstruction through closeout.

Description

• Manage all phases of public construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover.

• Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, and change management.

• Coordinate with public agencies, architects, engineers, inspectors, and consultants.

• Ensure compliance with public-sector requirements including procurement procedures, reporting, and documentation.

• Lead subcontractor buyout, negotiations, and contract administration.

• Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and mitigate risks.

• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, codes, and quality requirements.

Profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager working for a general contractor on public-sector projects.

• Proven experience delivering K-12 schools, municipal buildings, and/or federal projects.

• Strong understanding of public procurement processes, compliance, and reporting requirements.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project environments.

• Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Primavera, or MS Project.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
