Description

The Head of Operations will play a critical leadership role in designing and building the operational framework for a newly formed U.S. banking entity focused on cross-border payments, wholesale banknotes, and FX services.

This position will oversee the development of operational infrastructure, banking systems, and client onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with U.S. regulatory and Federal Reserve standards. The role includes responsibility for day-to-day transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and service delivery, along with ownership of operational risk controls and third-party oversight.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in transaction banking or payment operations, a strong understanding of the U.S. regulatory environment, and a track record of building scalable, compliant operations in a financial institution setting. This is a rare opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a purpose-built banking platform from inception to execution.

Profile

This hands-on leadership role in Stamford, CT (hybrid but mostly in office ) presents a rare opportunity in a start up capacity to build and run a bank centered on payments.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Head of Operations in a transaction banking/ payment services in a large US bank or a b2b fintech bringing deep experience in banking operations, with a strong track record in cross-border payments, FX settlement, and transaction processing.

They should be comfortable operating in regulated financial environments, with a solid grasp of compliance, risk controls, and technology integration to support secure, scalable transaction banking infrastructure.

Familiarity with Connecticut state regulations and the Federal Reserve System is a strong asset.

This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can drive operational excellence while building and mentoring high-performing teams.
