Supplier Quality Manager
My client is looking for Supplier Quality Manager. This role will play a critical role in managing and improving the performance of our suppliers, ensuring that all raw materials and packaging meet company and regulatory standards. This position will collaborate closely with Procurement, R&D, and Operations teams to maintain the integrity of our products and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain

Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain the supplier quality management program, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, FSMA, etc.).
- Evaluate and approve new suppliers through audits, assessments, and qualification processes.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Manage supplier non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Procurement and R&D teams during the onboarding of new suppliers and materials.
- Maintain and update supplier documentation, including certifications, specifications, and quality agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide regular reports to internal stakeholders.
- Lead supplier risk assessments and help develop mitigation plans to reduce potential quality and safety issues.
- Stay current on industry regulations, standards, and best practices, implementing changes as necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams and suppliers regarding quality standards and food safety requirements.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards (GFSI, SQF, BRC), regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, FSMA), and quality management systems.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective action plans.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or similar is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites as needed (up to 30%).
