My client specializes in the finishing processes for soft goods, providing services that enhance the appearance, performance, and durability. They offer a range of finishing treatments such as dyeing, coating, and specialized surface treatments to meet the needs of various industries.
Description
You will report into the Production Manager and be responsible for:
- Managing and monitoring the daily shift work for all machines and their operators.
- Monitoring all readings and systems to ensure compliance with permit limits.
- Performing required testing and inspections on all fabrics.
- Overseeing mixing operations to ensure coatings are prepared properly.
- Ensuring a safe workplace by leading the team in improving safety and enforcing safety guidelines and procedures.
- Interacting daily with the Department Head to address and resolve manufacturing efficiency issues.
- Collaborating with supervisors of other departments to ensure effective communication.
- Interfacing with supervisors of other shifts to maintain smooth and continuous production.
- Resolving any issues that arise with operators or machines during the shift.
- Adhering to and enforcing company policies and plant rules.
- Reviewing, maintaining, and filing records, including daily overtime sheets, production reports, coating/finishing cards, static pressure readings, boiler and oxidizer reports, consumption reports, daily attendance sheets, and employee records.
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience supervising in a Manufacturing environment
- Previous union environment experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills
- Detail-oriented
