Vice President or Director of Real Estate

We are seeking an experienced Director or Vice President of Real Estate, an expert in LIHTC affordable development, who excels in strategic planning and organizational leadership within the affordable sector. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in development management, with a focus on affordable housing.

Client Details

The organization is a well-established, large-sized real estate firm with a mission to expand opportunities for people living with mental health concerns to recover from trauma and discrimination. Based in New York, they are committed to helping their clients lead fulfilling lives.

Description

  • Oversee all real estate activities on ground up and redevelopment projects, from predevelopment, construction and lease up
  • Site acquisition, investor management, underwriting (key focus), design and construction through to completion and lease up
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for property acquisition and development reporting to the CEO
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal housing regulations
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of real estate professionals, working closely with asset and property mangement
  • Coordinate with other departments to achieve organizational objectives
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the housing sector with a bias towards LIHTC
  • Evaluate and manage risks related to property investments
  • Advocate for affordable housing initiatives within the community

Profile

A successful 'Director of Real Estate' should have:

  • Significant experience in affordable development and redevelopment
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Strong LIHTC experience, well networked in the space
  • Proven track record in strategic planning
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local and federal housing regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for advocating for affordable housing initiatives
