Reconciliations Specialist

This role involves performing detailed reconciliations across multiple financial systems and ledgers, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrective actions with relevant teams. It also includes preparing periodic reports, supporting audit processes, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

The client is a commercial bank that started in Japan. They are the third largest bank in Japan and offer services such as investment banking, global markets, and sales and trading.

Description

• Conduct daily and periodic reviews of financial data across multiple internal systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with relevant departments and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain oversight of various account balances, including suspense and collateral-related entries, to support operational integrity.
• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly reports that reflect reconciliation outcomes and key financial metrics.
• Support audit processes by providing documentation and confirmations as needed, ensuring transparency and compliance.
• Stay informed on internal policies and industry regulations, participating in required training and adhering to ethical standards.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in financial reconciliation.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with financial systems and general ledger reconciliations in a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
• Proficiency in using financial software and tools, with a demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and internal audit procedures, with a commitment to maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
