Quality Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing - Ayer, MA
The Quality Manager, industrial manufacturing, will oversee the inspection, quality, and conformance of all manufactured products, ensuring adherence to ISO procedures and standards with consistent application throughout the process. They will also manage and direct the quality inspection team, facilitating effective communication and follow-through on quality initiatives at our Ayer, MA facility.

Description
The Quality Manager will:
- Maintain and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems
- Serve as the company's ISO 9001/AS9100 Aerospace Representative
- Oversee product inspection and testing to verify conformance to specifications and customer requirements
- Develop and implement quality assurance workflows and audit procedures
- Prepare and review audit reports to ensure continual compliance and improvement
- Conduct risk assessments and facilitate cross-departmental meetings to address quality risks
- Lead and manage the Quality department and team members
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve delivery times
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) based on audit findings and inspection results
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Monitor quality metrics and prepare reports for management review
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability across the organization
- Onsite at our Ayer, MA facility
Profile
The Quality Manager, Industrial Manufacturing, will have the following experience:
- 10-15 years of Quality Assurance experience in a machine or job shop environment (previous manufacturing experience required), ideally previous experience as a quality manager
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards, including FAI (First Article Inspection) support
- Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance terminology, methodologies, and tools
- Proficient in testing best practices, version control, and defect management
- Skilled in data analysis with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experienced in quality documentation and audit processes
- Competent in using computer systems and database management for quality data tracking
- Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization techniques
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring product and process compliance to specifications
