Description

This role will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for

• Analyzing and testing metal alloys to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications.
• Developing and optimizing metallurgical processes for casting and heat treatment to improve product quality and efficiency.
• Conducting failure analysis on defective products to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve metallurgical issues during the manufacturing process.
• Researching and recommending new materials and technologies to enhance foundry capabilities.
• Maintaining and updating technical documentation and process specifications for metallurgical procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations related to material properties and processes.
• Providing technical support to engineering and production teams on metallurgical aspects of product design and manufacturing.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material properties, reduce defects, and increase overall production efficiency.

Profile

The successful candidate will have

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in metallurgy, preferably within a foundry or metal casting environment.
• Proven expertise in analyzing and testing metal alloys, including experience with advanced metallurgical techniques and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of foundry processes, including casting, heat treatment, and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve metallurgical issues in a production setting.
• Experience with failure analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to metallurgical practices and material properties.
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
