My client is seeking a skilled Metallurgist to oversee the analysis, testing, and development of metal alloys used in the foundry, ensuring they meet the required quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy and experience with foundry processes, working closely with production teams to optimize materials and improve casting outcomes.

Description
This role will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for
- Analyzing and testing metal alloys to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications.
- Developing and optimizing metallurgical processes for casting and heat treatment to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Conducting failure analysis on defective products to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve metallurgical issues during the manufacturing process.
- Researching and recommending new materials and technologies to enhance foundry capabilities.
- Maintaining and updating technical documentation and process specifications for metallurgical procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations related to material properties and processes.
- Providing technical support to engineering and production teams on metallurgical aspects of product design and manufacturing.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material properties, reduce defects, and increase overall production efficiency.
Profile
The successful candidate will have
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in metallurgy, preferably within a foundry or metal casting environment.
- Proven expertise in analyzing and testing metal alloys, including experience with advanced metallurgical techniques and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of foundry processes, including casting, heat treatment, and quality control.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve metallurgical issues in a production setting.
- Experience with failure analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to metallurgical practices and material properties.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
