Client Details
Our client is a leader in the design, installation, and maintenance of complex electrical systems in the greater New England area. They have been in business for over 30 years and work on exciting projects in the greater Boston area.
Description
- Working knowledge of construction accounting principles: job costing, change orders, purchase orders, schedule of values, time & materials, AIA progress billing
- Hands-on, actively managing day-to-day accounting operations and transactions
- Understanding, preparing and managing AIA billing contracts
- Completing weekly billing for time & material projects
- Preparing periodic
- reports: WIP; over/under billing; balance sheet; income statement; cash flow statements
- Accounts payable and receivable active management and oversight
- Supervision and management of payroll administration
- Analyzing transactions and recording appropriate journal entries in the general ledger
- Reviewing and reconciling all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy
- Leading the month-end close process
- Assisting with external reviews by third party accounting professionals
- Monitoring and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Analyzing financial data; identifying trends; providing insight to management on outlook, opportunities, challenges
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts
- Mentoring and training junior accounting staff; assignment of special projects
- Other accounting tasks as the need arises
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent business experience
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience in the construction industry
- Construction and job cost accounting knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of Foundation Construction Software, Quick Books and ADP Workforce Now
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Willingness to work 100% in-office
Job Offer
- Base $85,000 - $100,000 annual salary
