I'm partnered with a well-established construction firm near Hinsdale, IL that was ranked Chicago Tribune's Top Work Places 6 years in a row! As the company continues to grow, they're seeking a Controller to join their team.

Reporting directly into the CFO, the Controller will oversee both the general ledger accounting and projects while managing a team of 4. The long-term goal for this person will be to take over and progress into a Regional Controllership level.

Description

Controller Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of four individuals across project and general accounting
• Oversee and approve entries for month-end close and provide to senior leadership
• Partner with private equity partners on corporate reporting tools
• Partner with outsourced accounting firm on improvements for the accounting procedures
• Partner with finance department for budgeting, planning and forecasting

Profile

A successful Controller should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
• 10+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry
• Hands-on accounting experience within the construction industry
• Management experience
• Progressive growth as a Controller
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments
• Effective communicator with solid organizational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment
• Ability to collaborate and work well with others
