Sr. UI Test Automation Engineer

We're seeking a Sr. UI Automation Engineer who will be focused on developing and maintaining automated testing solutions for an Excel-based add-in. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in UI automation, particularly with Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and VBScript, to ensure robust and scalable test coverage throughout the software development lifecycle.

Description

• Develop and maintain automated UI test scripts using UFT, customizing frameworks for modular and data-driven execution, and leveraging AI tools for test creation.
• Validate complex Excel-based workflows through automated testing, execute test runs across environments, and perform root cause analysis to improve reliability.
• Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, GitHub Actions), manage defect tracking in JIRA, and maintain comprehensive test documentation.
• Provide technical leadership by writing reusable VBScript and SQL queries, mentoring junior team members, and promoting best practices in test automation.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of experience in UI automation with UFT in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in UFT test development and frameworks, including Object Repository, Descriptive Programming, modular/data-driven design, and VBScript scripting.
• Proficiency in Excel object models, SQL for data validation, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions); experience using AI tools for coding is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with proven ability to troubleshoot, optimize scripts, mentor team members, and work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
