Senior Staff Accountant

Seeking a high-quality candidate for the position of Senior Staff Accountant. In this role, you will provide financial analysis and support payroll, fixed assets and cash management functions while also performing additional accounting tasks as part of an effective team

Description



General Accounting

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate journal entries and adjustments for financial reporting.


Construction Accounting

  • Maintain and update project budgets and cost allocations.
  • Prepare and monitor WIP schedules and ensure compliance with percentage-of-completion accounting methods.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review job costs, track progress, and identify financial risks or opportunities.


Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific financial regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and filing local, state, and federal tax returns.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.


Financial Analysis & Support

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide support for cash flow management, including accounts receivable collections and vendor payments.


Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Maintain and update internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting standards and percentage-of-completion methods.
