PCB Engineer - Manufacturing
We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing PCB Engineer to lead daily PCB assembly operations and optimize SMT/THT processes in a high-mix, low-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, experience with advanced equipment, and a focus on NPI, quality, and continuous improvement.

Our Client is a leading designer and manufacturer of mission-critical power conversion and distribution systems for aerospace and defense applications, serving top-tier clients such as Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, and U.S. military platforms. Their 50,000 sq ft facility supports design engineering, new product development, OEM production, repair/overhaul, and employs around 200 people.
Description
- Lead and manage the daily operation and troubleshooting of SMT and THT processes.
- Set up, program, operate, and maintain SMT equipment including MYCenter, MY300, and MY700 systems.
- Program and optimize Mirtec AOI/SPI systems for accurate inspection and process control.
- Lead selective soldering processes and maintain Universal VCD and CS400 equipment.
- Oversee reflow soldering processes, including oven profiling and process validation.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, providing DFM input and ensuring smooth production ramp-up.
- Strong knowledge on MPM Stencil Printer and Jet Printer Programming
- Develop, document, and maintain PCBA manufacturing processes in accordance with IPC-610 and J-STD-001 with Space Addendum standards.
- Identify and implement improvements in yield, efficiency, and throughput through data-driven root cause analysis and process control.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, design, and production teams to support business goals.
Profile
- Over 5 years of experience in PCB assembly using both SMT and THT technologies
- Associate or technical degree required
- Proficient in programming packages for SMT and THT processes
- Skilled in setting up SMT and THT assembly equipment
- Deep understanding of reflow soldering, stencil design, solder paste application, and oven profiling
- Ability to interpret BOMs and follow setup procedures
- Competent in using hand and power tools
- Experienced in soldering and reading blueprints
- Proven track record in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledgeable in root cause analysis, process control, and continuous improvement
