My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will assist in planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Client Details

Our client is one of Portlands largest and well-established GC's in the Pacific Northwest. They span across the multifamily and commercial fields, oversees ground up and tenant improvement projects with a pipeline of $200M.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination:

    • Support the Project Manager in the daily management and coordination of project tasks.
    • Collaborate with architects, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to meet project timelines and budgets.
  2. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and schedules.
    • Ensure accurate and timely communication of project updates to stakeholders.
  3. Cost Management:

    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts.
  4. Schedule Management:

    • Monitor project schedules and provide updates to ensure adherence to timelines.
    • Identify and communicate potential delays or issues to the Project Manager.
  5. Quality Control and Compliance:

    • Conduct field inspections to ensure construction meets design specifications, codes, and quality standards.
    • Support the enforcement of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  6. Procurement and Logistics:

    • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules to align with project requirements.
    • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  7. Problem Solving:

    • Address on-site challenges promptly, working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
    • Provide innovative solutions to improve efficiency and minimize disruptions.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations is a plus.
