SVP, Commercial Lending Counsel
The SVP, Commercial Lending Counsel will support and lead the Bank's US Legal Department, providing advice on commercial real estate lending matters, credit, contracts, regulatory and various other banking activities.

Description
The SVP, Commercial Lending Counsel will advise on a wide range of legal matters pertaining to the bank, including:
- Advise the bank on a wide range of commercial lending matters pertaining to commercial real estate lending matters, credit and banking transactions
- Advise on bank regulatory matters
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of credit and collateral documentation, confidentiality agreements, term sheets, commitment letters, assignments, amendments, and waivers
- Overhaul commercial lending contract template system
- Assist with the management of outside counsel
- Work on special projects as assigned
Profile
- J.D. with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
- NY State Bar admission
- 6-10 years of experience with commercial real estate bank lending, finance transactions and credit matters gained at a top NYC law firm or at a top commercial bank
- Strong experience in representing commercial lenders in real estate, banking and credit transactions
- Experience with bank regulatory matters
- Excellent drafting and negotiating skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Entrepreneurial with desire to grow career
