Chemical Manufacturing - Project Engineer II - Braintree, MA
The Project Engineer II handles engineering design evaluations, ensures projects stay on budget and schedule, and ensures compliance with regulations. They monitor project progress, address issues, and manage resources. The role includes preparing designs, schedules, budgets, and selecting materials and contractors.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee capital projects from design and planning through to execution, commissioning, and turnover, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Lead capital improvement projects aimed at enhancing capacity, efficiency, and safety while addressing cost reduction and operational reliability.
- Manage project budgets ranging from $1MM to $5M+, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and timely completion.
- Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent projects, utilizing shared resources to achieve project milestones and completion.
- Promote safety awareness, ensuring compliance with safety standards for all team members and external partners on site.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting operational issues and contribute to the development of new products and processes.
- Collaborate with internal departments to establish clear project objectives and facilitate effective communication across all stakeholders.
- Develop and revise standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes, including process control algorithms where needed, and ensure successful project handover and implementation.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical) or a related field is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, pumping systems, piping, and instrumentation is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
- Must have a hands-on approach and the ability to build strong working relationships with operations, maintenance, utilities, and analytical teams.
- A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering principles, along with familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements, is required.
- Experience with engineering standards such as ASME, API, and UL is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working with industrial distributed control systems (DCS) and human-machine interfaces (HMI).
