Supplier Quality Engineer - Hydraulic Manufacturer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in improving the quality of our client's supplier network. You'll lead efforts to ensure suppliers meet stringent quality standards, work closely with cross-functional teams, and promote ongoing improvements across the supply chain. This position is essential in upholding the quality of products delivered to customers.

Our client is a global, multi-billion dollar organization that specializes in manufacturing hydraulic and gear components for tractors, combines, and other equipment for the agricultural industry primarily. This opportunity allows you the benefits and resources of working for a large company while still have a small, family-oriented culture, as you will be joining a Quality team of 3 for this facility. There is ample opportunity for growth and offers a very down to earth environment, where they get the job done but have fun doing it.

Description

  • Qualification and approval of potential suppliers and components, including activities such as Potential Supplier Audits (PSA), business case evaluations, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Interim Recovery Worksheet (IRW), Process Audits (PA), and Program Reviews (PR).
  • Support for new program launches, including Technical Reviews and Quality Risk Assessments (QRA).
  • Management of supplier quality performance and resolution of supplier quality issues, using Supplier Quality Plan (SQP) management, PIQ/PPM metrics, and other relevant tools.
  • Addressing current product management (CPM) issues and resolutions.
  • Ensuring the correct application of nonconformity containment tools, such as CSL1/2/3 (Containment Shipping Levels), and implementing proper corrective actions to maintain consistent supplier conformity.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of problem-solving techniques at supplier sites, including 8D, Ishikawa, and Pareto diagrams.

Profile

  • Experience with gears and/or hydraulic components
  • Supplier Quality experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and Control Plan
  • Experience with New Product Launch
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% (Mexico and US)
  • Sponsorship not provided
