Quality Systems and Engineering Manager - Buffalo, NY
We are seeking a Quality Systems & Engineering Manager to lead and develop our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will drive process improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards within a dynamic manufacturing setting. Description
In this role, the Quality Systems & Engineering Manager will:
- Build and lead a high-performing Quality Engineering team focused on problem resolution, compliance, and process enhancement.
- Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS).
- Guarantee compliance with industry standards through a robust internal audit program.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Operations and Engineering to improve efficiency and address quality concerns.
- Establish and enforce effective root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes.
- Provide accurate quality metrics and contribute to overall company reporting.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable customer and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, AS13100).
Profile
A successful Quality Systems & Engineering Manager will have:
- Technical Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Extensive Quality Engineering experience (5-8 years) within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership with 1-3 years of experience managing and developing engineering professionals.
- Experience in deploying and optimizing an eQMS.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and a strong understanding of AS9100 and AS13100.
- Practical experience in auditing, process validation, and applying FMEA, PPAP/APQP tools.
- Certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Minitab expertise being a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
