The Engineering Program Manager, will lead end to end program management related to chemical processes, materials science, and metal finishing. In this role you will drive new product development from concept through to commercialization.

My client is a small sized, innovative, company specializing in materials science development. This company engineers sustainable, high‑performance metals that replace less efficient or costly traditional materials. The company operates a specialized lab and supports large‑scale production for global manufacturers.

Description

Reporting directly into the Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Lead a small project team to support key programs relating to chemical engineering and materials science.
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities of product performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Drive development of products and processes to ensure timely delivery of programs.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and leadership teams effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to strict timelines and have strong sense of urgency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and quality.

Profile

A successful Engineering Program Manager should have:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, etc.
  • Master's Degree in related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience of technical engineering experience in related field of chemical engineering, materials science, metallurgy, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical program management role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide teams and interact with stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.
