Our client is a leading construction company, specializing in a variety of commercial projects, including Build-to-Suit, Flex/Industrial, Institutional, Distribution Centers, Low-rise Office, Retail, Tenant Interiors, Repositioning, and Specialty Construction. With a focus on projects under $20M, most ranging from $1M to $5M for Tenant Interiors and $5M to $10M for Base Building projects, they serve the Northern Virginia and Maryland areas, particularly around the 495 Beltway. Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Base Building or Interiors) to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from start to finish. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for estimating, scheduling, budgeting, managing subcontractors, and ensuring quality control across multiple projects. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals, including an Assistant Project Manager, and will report to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage 2-3 projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Perform estimating, scheduling, and subcontractor buyouts for projects valued at $1M to $20M.
- Lead job cost meetings, process invoices, and handle field receipts.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and manage change orders.
- Oversee procurement of materials, purchase orders, and submittals.
- Conduct progress meetings, maintain meeting minutes, and ensure compliance with project documentation.
- Mentor and guide an Assistant Project Manager, providing oversight and support.
Profile
The Project Manager - Base Building or Interiors - NoVA / DC Metro will have:
- 5-10+ years of commercial construction experience, with a focus on base building, interiors, or tenant improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of all trades, including demolition, rough carpentry, millwork, framing, MEP, flooring, and finishes.
- Experience managing project accounting, including requisitions, change orders, and job cost tracking.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proficiency with project management software, scheduling, and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
Job Offer
The Project Manager - Base Building or Interiors - NoVA / DC Metro will receive:
- Salary: $100K-$130K, based on experience.
- 401k with 5% match.
