Construction Manager (Quick Service Retail)
The Construction Manager will assist in construction activities related to new construction, renovations and various capex projects. The Construction Manager will work closely with the Development Manager and the Vice President of Construction throughout the construction/renovation life of the project. The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring quality deliverables, on time and within budget.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry. This role demands expertise in managing all aspects of construction projects, from initial design to final handover, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess specific experience in the construction of quick-service restaurant buildings, including understanding industry standards, operational workflows, and customer-focused timelines.
Description
- Lead, plan, and manage construction projects for new Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) or renovations of existing locations.
- Develop detailed project timelines, work breakdown structures, and budget plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure seamless design and construction processes.
- Ensure all project requirements, including scope, design specifications, and client expectations, are met.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Approve and track project-related expenses, including subcontractor and supplier invoices.
- Oversee and supervise on-site construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all team members, providing leadership and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure all construction work complies with local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments to ensure the project is being executed to the highest standards.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to construction quality, design, or safety on-site.
- Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide regular progress updates, reports, and forecasts regarding timelines, budgets, and any risks or challenges.
- Manage client expectations and facilitate smooth change management processes when necessary.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles that could impact the project's timeline, budget, or quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve issues swiftly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.
Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 2 years in the quick service restaurant (QSR) sector.
- Proven experience in managing the construction of new QSR buildings or extensive restaurant renovations, with a strong understanding of the specific needs and operations of QSRs.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract management, and project management software.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
- Solid understanding of QSR-specific design and operational requirements, including kitchen layouts, customer flow, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
