Senior Financial Controller - Real Estate

The Senior Financial Controller - Real Estate position is a key leadership role for a Brooklyn, NY based Real Estate Company. This company is well-established having been open many decades and they have been the Developer's behind some of Brooklyn's most iconic residential and mixed-use projects. This role works daily with the Company President and Company CEO and is based on site 5 days a week. The office is very accessible by public transport. Description
- Reports directly to the President & CEO, overseeing accounting functions across the organization.
- Leads corporate accounting operations, ensuring efficient management of financial activities.
- Brings expertise in real estate accounting, handling responsibilities such as development accounting, job costing, and fund requisitioning.
- Manages critical financial processes, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, cash disbursements, and budgeting.
- Oversees financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational goals.
- Maintains strong internal controls and ensures adherence to financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Collaborates with various departments throughout real estate investment project lifecycles.
- Coordinates with external providers for tax reporting and audit management.
- Sets organizational and project-specific goals, along with performance benchmarks for team members.
- Oversees corporate consolidations and ensures comprehensive understanding and maintenance of organizational structures and documentation.
Profile
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or Business Related Field Preferred
- CPA preferred not essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Degree
- Systems: Yardi, QuickBooks or additional ERP Systems
- 10+ years of Finance Leadership tenure within the Real Estate. Property or Architecture Sector
- Executive leadership skills
- Scheduling ability to be on-site in office 5 days per week
Job Offer
- Base Salary: $160,000 - $190,000
