Financial Controller
The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations for the NAM region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all processes. This role is an essential part of the Accounting & Finance department within a rapidly growing Technology, manufacturing and production industry and is based 3 days in the Spring (Houston, TX) office.
Client Details
The client are a fast growing, multi-national tech company that have entities across the globe (UK, US, Spain, India etc.). The main HQ is based in Spain, and they are looking for a Financial Controller to take control of the NAM region's day-to-day finance & accounting operations. The role will start as an individual contributor, however they have the view of growing this role to a Finance Director position, with a number of direct reports.
Description
The successful Financial Controller will:
- Lead U.S. accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage monthly close, financial reporting, and audit readiness.
- Implement and optimize internal controls, ERP systems (Business Central), and automation tools.
- Collaborate with global finance teams, especially in Spain, and support FP&A on budgeting and forecasting.
- Act as the finance lead for the U.S. entity, with future potential to build and lead a local finance team.
- Serve as a strategic partner to leadership, contributing to business growth, transformation, and operational excellence.
- Improve the efficiency of the finance team through automation and system implementation
Profile
A successful Financial Controller should have:
- A strong background in Accounting & Finance, particularly within the Technology or Manufacturing industry.
- CPA qualification (highly desirable).
- Strong Excel skills.
- Prior experience working in a multi-national organization
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and accounting standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or a similar ERP system)
