Senior Accountant, Global Reporting

Our client, an innovative education tech company based in Mason, is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a temp role, and the successful candidate must be immediately available to start a new role.

Description

This role will involve:

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with management of the general ledger system, including security reviews, integrity reviews and chart of accounts
• Execute internal controls over key areas of responsibilities.
• Assist in quarterly reviews, periodic audits and prepare audit schedules, as necessary.
• Proactively identify issues causing inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline general ledger accounting and internal reporting processes.
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A, business finance and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.
• Perform various monthly close processes and reporting
• Perform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as required

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 3 - 5+ years of related experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong knowledge general ledger & accounting principles, US GAAP and Management Reporting processes, working in various currencies across multiple legal entities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, along with the ability to identify exceptions and develop solutions
• Ability prioritize, multi-task and meet assigned deadline
• Experience using reporting and analysis software such as Hyperion FM, Hyperion Essbase, SPSS ShowCase, OutlookSoft, Cognos, SAS FM preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, or Peoplesoft preferred
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to organize.
• Experience with Blackline, a plus
• Team player; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needs
• Ability and readiness to embrace and successfully implement & support change
• Strong communication and analytical skills, and ability to work independently
