Mechatronics Engineer - Precision Manufacturing - Salem, MA
The Mechatronics Engineer supports the design and development of next‑generation electro‑mechanical actuators and custom motion‑control systems. The role combines hands‑on engineering, CAD design, testing, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure high‑performance product delivery.

Description
This Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing electro‑mechanical systems from concept through production
- Developing components and assemblies for complex actuator designs
- Performing troubleshooting, testing, and analysis at component and system levels
- Creating test plans, procedures, and reports to validate requirements
- Collaborating with purchasing and manufacturing to source components and create BOMs
- Communicating effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors
- Managing multiple engineering projects and daily development tasks
- Following and improving engineering processes and procedures
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers
- Participating in root‑cause investigations and continuous improvement efforts
Profile
A successful Mechatronics Engineer candidate will have:
- BS in Engineering required; MS preferred
- 4-8 years of experience in industrial product design and development
- Strong SolidWorks skills with understanding of GD&T
- Experience integrating electro‑mechanical systems
- Familiarity with manufacturing and inspection processes
- Ability to troubleshoot using electrical test equipment
- Strong communication and project‑management abilities
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical/electrical assembly is a plus
