Director, Business Performance & Strategic Insights (Americas)

The Business Performance & Strategic Insights function partners closely with senior leadership to evaluate financial results, shape long‑term strategic initiatives, and manage high‑impact cross‑functional projects. The Director will guide a regional team, collaborate with stakeholders across multiple corporate functions, and ensure that analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations are delivered with accuracy, clarity, and commercial insight.

Our client is seeking a senior leader to oversee business performance analytics, strategic planning support, and financial insight generation across the Americas region. This role sits at the center of decision‑making, providing executives with the data, analysis, and strategic guidance they need to steer the organization, assess growth opportunities, and manage resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead the regional business insights function, ensuring consistency with global frameworks and organizational priorities.
  • Mentor and develop team members, set ambitious objectives, and cultivate a culture that values analytical rigor and professional growth.


Financial & Strategic Analysis

  • Produce financial analyses for senior stakeholders, including performance reviews, scenario modeling, valuation work, and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare executive‑ready materials for committees, planning sessions, and senior leadership forums.
  • Partner with finance and business management teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning efforts.


Business Partnering

  • Work directly with commercial and front‑office leaders to evaluate new business initiatives, assess growth opportunities, and optimize existing product lines.
  • Support investment decisions, including evaluation of new hires, business cases, acquisitions, due diligence, and integration activities.
  • Ensure business decisions reflect long‑term strategic priorities.


Controls, Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain strong analytical controls, ensuring accuracy, challenge, and integrity across all outputs.
  • Review and refine key deliverables, implementing quality checks and driving continuous improvements in reporting processes.
  • Oversee preparation and maintenance of financial schedules, dashboards, and performance reporting tools.


Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct market analysis, monitor competitive dynamics, evaluate emerging trends, and assess client activity and cost structures.
  • Provide insight into external factors that may influence business strategy or performance.


Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance analytical capabilities, and improve decision‑making efficiency.
  • Introduce new tools, methodologies, or processes to elevate the function's impact and effectiveness.

Profile



Required Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Proven background in financial analysis, strategy, business performance, or corporate development - ideally within financial services or a similarly complex environment.
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation capability, with strong expertise in Excel and modern reporting tools.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior executives.
  • Demonstrated success leading high‑visibility projects with cross‑functional partners.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, P&L drivers, and resource allocation principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in presenting insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Track record of building, guiding, and motivating high‑performing teams.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.


APreferred Qualifications

  • Professional credentials such as CFA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting M&A activities, including valuation and post‑acquisition integration.
  • Strong interest in data analytics and technology‑enabled insight generation.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks or technical finance topics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Oracle, OneStream, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Experience working across global regions or collaborating with offshore teams.
  • Background in complex financial markets or multi‑asset‑class environments.
