Business Development Executive-National Owner Rep- Construction
This executive-level business development role focuses on expanding utility-sector relationships nationwide by positioning the firm as a trusted advisor to Investor-Owned Utilities. Success is driven by strategy, relationship-building, and early involvement in capital planning-well before RFPs are issued.

Description
- Develop and execute a national business development strategy focused on utility real estate, facilities, and capital programmes
- Build trusted relationships with senior utility leaders across real estate, facilities, capital projects, operations, and procurement
- Position the firm early in planning discussions for control rooms, T&D facilities, operations centres, service centres, training facilities, and corporate offices
- Navigate complex utility procurement processes, including vendor registration and Master Service Agreements
- Identify and pursue opportunities well ahead of RFP release through market intelligence and relationship-led outreach
- Lead strategic account planning and long-cycle enterprise sales efforts (12-36 month cycles)
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking groups within the utility ecosystem
- Host lunch-and-learns and contribute to webinars, newsletters, and thought leadership content
- Collaborate with internal leadership to execute marketing materials developed by external consultants
- Maintain pipeline visibility and CRM discipline to track progress, relationships, and opportunities

Profile
- 5+ years of business development experience within general contracting, owner's representation, project management, or architecture
- Direct experience selling professional services (not products) into enterprise or highly regulated environments
- Strong understanding of utility real estate, facilities, capital projects, or infrastructure (wet or dry utilities preferred)
- Proven ability to build credibility and long-term relationships without immediate promise of work
- Experience navigating complex procurement structures and long sales cycles
- Comfortable with national travel (30-40%) for client meetings, events, and site visits
- Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete account-entry plans
- Experience using CRM tools such as HubSpot or ZoomInfo
