Tenant/Office Superintendent - General Contractor-DC
A Superintendent has the knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the day-to-day field operations of all aspects of a multifamily construction project. The Superintendent is responsible for all production aspects of the project and is accountable for producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standard's set forth in the project's contract documents.

My client is a small to mid size general contractor who was recently awarded one of the best places to work by the Washington Business Journal. My client specializes in corporate office interior construction in the 1-5M range and approx 10,000 sq.ft. Most of their work is relationship driven and over 90% of business is from repeat customers.
Most work is local to the Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County.
Description
A Superintendent has the knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the day-to-day field operations of all aspects of a multifamily construction project. The Superintendent is responsible for all production aspects of the project and is accountable for producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standard's set forth in the project's contract documents.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all on-site activities, coordinating the efforts of various subcontractors and personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with high-quality standards.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Superintendent with a focus on commercial interior projects is essential, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the DC metro area.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, and methods, particularly related to interior fit-outs and renovations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or LEED AP are a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with diverse project stakeholders.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully managing construction teams and subcontractors.
- Technology: Proficiency in construction project management software and tools is preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, ensuring precision in project execution and documentation.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in the DC metro area.
