The General Manager will oversee onsite operations and guide the company through significant growth. With a team of approximately 15 employees and increasing revenue, the business is primed for scale. This leader will strengthen operations, rebuild customer engagement, and position the organization for sustained success. This is a fully onsite role with high visibility and substantial decision-making authority.

Description

The General Manager will:

• Lead all onsite operations, including equipment moves, shop layout improvements, and workflow optimization.
• Build, refine, and document core processes across production, scheduling, quality, and logistics.
• Partner closely with the Production Manager to enhance efficiency and throughput.
• Provide temporary oversight of quality functions until a quality lead is hired.
• Ensure strong communication and alignment across production, office, and logistics.
• Serve as the primary onsite leader, setting expectations for communication, accountability, and teamwork.
• Motivate and support employees through organizational changes and growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Production Manager, Engineer, Office Manager, and Purchasing to maintain operational alignment.
• Support basic HR responsibilities, including employee engagement and general personnel coordination.
• Manage customer communication and relationship development.
• Re-engage former customers and help expand the active customer base.
• Contribute to building a structured sales strategy and long-term growth plan.
• Represent my client professionally with customers, vendors, and partners.

Profile

A successful General Manager should have the following qualifications:

• Leadership experience within manufacturing operations; experience in precision machining or gear manufacturing preferred.
• Strong operational mindset with a willingness to be hands-on.
• Experience working in turnaround, scale-up, or startup-like environments.
• Background in customer-facing or sales-related roles within a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to manage diverse responsibilities across operations, quality, staffing, and logistics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both shop-floor teams and external customers.
