Defense - CNC Manufacturing Engineer - Hartford, CT
As a CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop, optimize, and maintain CNC manufacturing processes to support production goals. This role involves programming, tooling design, workflow analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality, efficient operations.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and multi-axis programming
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Esprit, NX, etc.)
- Analyze workflows to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste
- Collaborate with design engineers for DFM input during product development
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues
- Evaluate and select CNC equipment, tooling, and technologies
- Maintain process documentation, including setup sheets and SOPs
- Train and mentor operators on CNC processes and best practices
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining and process engineering experience
- Advanced CNC programming skills, including probe and macro programming
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM and simulation software (Vericut)
- Strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (3, 4, 5-axis mills, mill-turn lathes)
- Understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Experience with metrology and measurement systems
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills 9001
