Job Requirements of Estimator - Commercial TI + Multifamily - Campbell:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and commercial construction practices in the Bay Area.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.

Estimator - Commercial TI + Multifamily - Campbell
The Estimator will play a critical role in the bidding process for both multifamily and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating commercial construction projects, with a strong understanding of project costs, schedules, and resource allocation. As their team is currently bidding on numerous projects, they need an Estimator who can help support the team in these endeavors.
Client Details
This company is a leading General Contractor specializing in ground-up multifamily construction, including affordable housing and market-rate. They also have a strong presence in other markets, including commercial TI. For over 40 years, they've specialized in the Bay Area market, creating strong and lasting relationships with clients. They take tremendous pride in their work and are committed to safety, commitment, integrity, collaboration, and improvement.
In terms of their culture, they are a smaller General Contractor (about 50 people) and are very family-oriented. They care about office culture and bringing on people who wish to be there long-term. They would describe themselves as laid back but professional; you can have one-on-one conversations with higher-ups (e.g. VP) whenever you want and leadership is very approachable.

Description
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for multifamily and commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for cost estimating.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Provide timely and competitive bids for new projects, ensuring all costs are considered and accurately estimated.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they align with project specifications and budget.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including the review and submission of proposals to clients.
- Manage multiple estimates for different types of commercial and multifamily projects simultaneously.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, material costs, labor rates, and industry best practices.
- Work closely with the procurement team to assist in sourcing materials and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
- Provide cost support during the project lifecycle, including value engineering, cost forecasting, and change orders.
- Help develop and maintain estimating databases, including labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Ensure that estimates align with project timelines and that any risks or potential issues are communicated to the project team.
Profile
