Manufacturing Engineer | CNC Machining

We are seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support and enhance machining and assembly operations for a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical components. This role is responsible for developing efficient manufacturing processes, generating CNC programs, selecting tooling, and driving continuous improvement efforts throughout the production floor.

Description

• Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes for machining and assembly operations.

• Generate CNC programs for turning, milling, grinding, and gear shaping operations.

• Design and specify tooling, fixtures, and jigs using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.

• Review and improve current manufacturing methods to ensure cost-effectiveness and productivity.

• Conduct time and motion studies; perform job costing and recommend process improvements.

• Identify and recommend capital equipment investments, including preparing cost/benefit analyses.

• Lead long-term planning initiatives for new technologies and future projects.

• Mentor junior engineers and support peer projects as needed.

• Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure new product designs are manufacturable.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to internal teams and suppliers.

• Stay up-to-date on manufacturing trends, methods, and technologies to enhance company operations.

• Maintain documentation and records related to manufacturing activities and projects.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

• 5-8 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.

• Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM programming software.

• Deep understanding of machining processes for aluminum, castings, and alloy steels.

• Knowledge of inspection tools, CMMs, GD&T, and SPC.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Job Offer

• Primarily office-based with regular time spent on the production floor.

• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.

• Occasional use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) is required when on the shop floor.
