This Columbia, MD-based construction firm has been operating since the early 1990s, initially focusing on elevator modernization and life safety. Over the years, they have expanded into commercial renovations and new construction projects valued up to $10M, self-performing much of the work. Description
The Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Projects - Columbia, MD will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Superintendent in overseeing daily site activities for multifamily projects, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
- Enforcing safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
- Collaborating with project teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Conducting site inspections and managing project documentation.
- Assisting with project logistics, including material procurement and equipment management.
Profile
The Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Projects - Columbia, MD will have:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, with exposure to both interior and concrete projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes, particularly in commercial construction.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple subcontractors, scheduling, and project logistics in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Safety: Familiarity with OSHA regulations and experience enforcing safety protocols on-site.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite, and general project documentation tools.
Job Offer
The Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Projects - Columbia, MD will receive:
- Paid Time Off: 15 days (120 hours) of PTO accrued annually.
