Director of Accounting
Large retail client looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting to lead their accounting department. The Director of Accounting will also play a critical role in shaping financial strategies and improving processes to drive operational efficiency.

Description
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance financial integrity and efficiency.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax advisors, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in accounting regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the accounting team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and enhance accuracy.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
