Engineering Manager
Client Details
Our Client is a U.S.-based manufacturer and global innovator specializing in doctor blade technology-critical components used for ink metering and surface cleaning in printing, coating, and converting processes.
Description
- Lead and mentor a two-person engineering team, setting priorities and ensuring timely project completion.
- Drive the design and prototyping of next-generation manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Oversee testing and validation of prototypes, ensuring smooth transition to production.
- Manage the development and construction of custom machinery to support advanced manufacturing.
- Review engineering designs, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Handle vendor relationships, sourcing, and procurement for engineering materials and components.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and implement engineering solutions.
- Maintain organized, safe, and efficient engineering workspaces.
- Represent Engineering on the Management Team and collaborate across departments.
- Prepare and present technical reports and project updates.
- Support production by resolving equipment-related issues.
- Utilize Salesforce for workflow and project tracking.
- Work with external partners on equipment specifications and acquisitions.
- Participate in new product development and facility projects as needed.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and ability to guide design best practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment design, pneumatics, drives, controls, and materials.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine shop tools (mill, lathe).
- Familiarity with PLC and HMI programming.
- 5+ years in an engineering or manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
- A portfolio showcasing engineering projects.
