Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you'll support the management of retail and restaurant construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience and growth opportunities with a fast-paced general contractor.

Client Details

My client is a San Diego-based general contractor with a strong track record in retail and restaurant construction projects. They are a smaller but growing company, known for their hands-on approach, close client relationships, and consistent delivery of high-quality builds. With a steady pipeline of work, they are looking to add a Project Engineer to their team.

Description

• Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation

• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Manage RFIs, change orders, and project logs

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and materials

• Support scheduling and cost control throughout all project phases

• Attend site walks and help track project progress and quality

• Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and field staff

Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in commercial building and construction, ideally with retail and/or restaurant projects in Irvine

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in construction software (Procore experience a plus)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
