Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, you'll support the management of retail and restaurant construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience and growth opportunities with a fast-paced general contractor.
Client Details
My client is a San Diego-based general contractor with a strong track record in retail and restaurant construction projects. They are a smaller but growing company, known for their hands-on approach, close client relationships, and consistent delivery of high-quality builds. With a steady pipeline of work, they are looking to add a Project Engineer to their team.
Description
Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage RFIs, change orders, and project logs
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and materials
Support scheduling and cost control throughout all project phases
Attend site walks and help track project progress and quality
Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and field staff
Profile
1-3 years of experience in commercial building and construction, ideally with retail and/or restaurant projects in Irvine
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in construction software (Procore experience a plus)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
