VP Credit Risk Review
A global bank is seeking a VP Credit Risk Review Officer to support its independent credit review function across general corporate and leveraged loan portfolios. This role involves conducting detailed assessments of credit underwriting, portfolio management practices, and risk controls, with a focus on middle market and large-cap borrowers.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent reviews of credit files, underwriting decisions, and portfolio risk ratings across corporate and leveraged loan exposures
- Evaluate adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and risk appetite frameworks
- Identify emerging credit risks, structural weaknesses, and process gaps; escalate findings as appropriate
- Document review findings in structured workpapers with clear rationale and supporting analysis
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support sampling methodology, thematic reviews, and reporting
- Contribute to governance materials, dashboards, and periodic review summaries for senior management
- Support continuous improvement of review templates, procedures, and risk assessment frameworks
Profile
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in credit risk, loan review, or underwriting within corporate banking, leveraged finance, or credit advisory
- Strong understanding of credit structures, financial statement analysis, and risk rating methodologies
- Familiarity with syndicated loan documentation, covenant frameworks, and regulatory guidance (e.g., OCC, FRB, FDIC)
- Proficiency in Excel and credit systems; experience with SQL or data tools a plus
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics; advanced degree or CFA preferred
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to present findings to senior stakeholder
