Project Manager - Federal Construction (Traveling)
A long‑established federal contractor is seeking Project Managers to support major federal construction projects at Air Force Bases in South Dakota and Wyoming. These roles require strong financial management, client‑facing experience, and the ability to lead federal projects over $50M with a rotating 3‑weeks‑on/1‑week‑home travel schedule.

Description
- Lead project financials, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and overall project performance
- Serve as a client‑facing leader, ensuring alignment with federal stakeholders and base personnel
- Manage and mentor project teams while promoting a strong safety culture
- Lead daily huddles and coordination meetings to drive communication and issue resolution
- Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and execute project schedules
- Supervise a typical on‑site team of five: PM, Superintendent, Safety, PE, and QCM
- Report directly to the Project Executive on site
Profile
A successful Project Manager - Federal Construction (Traveling) should have:
- 8-10 years of federal construction experience
- At least five years as a Project Manager (flexible for exceptional project experience)
- Experience managing $50M+ federal projects
- Strong financial acumen and experience driving profitability
- Comfortable with a 3‑weeks on site / 1 weekend home travel rotation
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree not required (preferred only)
- Software: MS Office
- Familiarity with EM‑385 safety standards
Job Offer
Compensation:
- $120K - $160k
Benefits:
- 10% performance‑based bonus
- Stipend provided for food & lodging
- 3 weeks PTO (accrued; increases to 20 days at 5 years, 25 days at 10 years)
