Director of Technical Accounting
The Director of Technical Accounting will be a key member of the accounting and financial reporting team, responsible for evaluating complex transactions and ensuring accurate technical accounting and reporting under US GAAP. This individual will serve as a subject-matter expert, partnering with cross-functional teams and external auditors, while also supporting capital raises, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.

Description
Lead the assessment, research, and documentation of US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting implications of complex transactions (leases, financings, purchase/sales contracts, derivatives, capitalization, impairment assessments, business combinations).
Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize new agreements and transactions.
Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting and policy matters.
Oversee adoption of new accounting standards and update internal policies, documentation, and training materials.
Lead accounting for business combinations, divestitures, and impairments, working closely with valuation professionals.
Support capital raises, significant transactions, and other corporate initiatives
Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
8-10+ years of accounting experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 and public company technical accounting roles.
Strong knowledge of lease accounting, revenue recognition, debt accounting, fixed assets, and business combinations.
Experience in accounting advisory and/or US GAAP public company environments strongly preferred.
Proven ability to quickly assess accounting/reporting implications of complex transactions and prepare high-quality technical memos.
Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills; able to explain complex accounting topics to diverse stakeholders.
Action-oriented, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint; Workiva experience a plus
