Electrical Superintendent

The Electrical Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations for electrical scopes of work on commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.

Description



Field Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor electrical crews and subcontractors across all phases of construction.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily field work to align with project milestones and general contractor requirements.
  • Ensure correct installation methods and adherence to drawings, NEC, and company standards.


Project Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Foremen, engineers, and other trades to maintain workflow and resolve conflicts.
  • Review construction documents, shop drawings, RFI responses, and change orders to ensure the field team has accurate information.
  • Manage inspections with local authorities, utilities, and third-party agencies.


Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project‑specific safety plans.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site walks, and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free jobsite.


Quality Control

  • Monitor craftsmanship and installation integrity to ensure compliance with plans, NEC, and industry best practices.
  • Identify issues proactively and implement corrective actions.
  • Document field conditions, progress, and deviations as required.


Scheduling & Productivity

  • Develop 2‑week look‑ahead schedules and labor projections.
  • Track manpower, equipment, productivity, and material usage.
  • Optimize workflow to maintain or improve project schedules.


Communication & Reporting

  • Provide daily reports, site photos, and updates to the Project Manager.
  • Participate in OAC and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact for owners, GCs, inspectors, and vendors.

Profile



Required

  • 7+ years of electrical construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role (Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry installation standards.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education, or large‑scale electrical projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑lines, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).


Preferred

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience working for an electrical subcontractor or self‑performing contractor.
  • Experience on projects $5M+ electrical value.
