Director of Lighting-Military/Aerospace-ONSITE Stamford,CT
The Director of Lighting will oversee business development efforts within the industrial and manufacturing industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with a focus on expanding market presence and building strong client relationships.

Description
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic market plans for military and aerospace lighting products.
- Drive growth in lighting product sales, meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
- Identify current and future customer requirements through strong relationships and market insight.
- Establish new accounts and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Prepare high-quality proposals and present regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Identify market requirements, key competitors, and emerging trends.
- Assess risks versus opportunities for strategic decision-making.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer visits.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to customers and industry stakeholders.
- Support and manage sales activities of authorized distributors.
Customer Focus
- Own the entire customer relationship and account health.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and after-sales support.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on technical approvals and issue resolution.
Departmental Leadership
- Maintain a robust CRM with opportunity details and pursue actions to meet revenue goals.
- Organize and present sales forecasts to management.

Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of technical sales experience in aerospace and defense markets.
- Proven success in technical sales within military/aerospace sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineered lighting systems and non-commodity products.
- Ability to prepare technically accurate proposals and work cross-functionally with engineering teams.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and disciplined sales methodologies.
- Travel: Up to 50% for customer meetings, trade shows, and collaboration with colleagues.
