Description
As Construction Director, you'll lead and manage field operations across multiple active projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership to project teams and field staff
- Ensure consistent execution of construction processes across all job sites
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executive leadership
- Monitor project performance and proactively resolve operational challenges
- Support preconstruction planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Mentor and develop field leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Contribute to continuous improvement of construction practices and systems
- Represent the construction team in executive meetings and strategic planning
Profile
A successful Construction Director should have:
- 10+ years of experience in construction leadership
- Proven success managing multiple large-scale projects and field teams
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and trade coordination
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead with both strategic vision and operational detail
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office
- OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety or leadership training a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
