Construction Director, Cleveland

Description

As Construction Director, you'll lead and manage field operations across multiple active projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to project teams and field staff
  • Ensure consistent execution of construction processes across all job sites
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executive leadership
  • Monitor project performance and proactively resolve operational challenges
  • Support preconstruction planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and develop field leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of construction practices and systems
  • Represent the construction team in executive meetings and strategic planning

Profile

A successful Construction Director should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction leadership
  • Proven success managing multiple large-scale projects and field teams
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and trade coordination
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead with both strategic vision and operational detail
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety or leadership training a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
