Civil Superintendent

A superintendent specialized in sitework and utilities oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of earthwork, grading, drainage, and underground utility installations on construction sites. Client Details

Our client is a sitework construction company based in New Jersey, specializing in services that support building infrastructure outside the footprint, such as demolition, earthwork, grading, stormwater management, utility installation (sewer, water, electric), paving, and retaining walls. They combine hands-on construction expertise with a Professional Engineering mindset to offer value engineering during the design phase, helping civil engineers optimize plans for cost-efficiency and constructability.

Description

• Oversee daily operations of sitework and utility construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans and specifications.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, equipment, and materials to maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Supervise installation of underground utilities including stormwater, sanitary sewer, water, and electrical systems.
• Monitor grading, excavation, and backfill operations to ensure proper compaction and site preparation.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to verify compliance with engineering standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to resolve field issues and implement design changes.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation of site activities and progress.
• Enforce safety protocols and lead toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety on the job site.
• Interpret civil drawings and utility plans to guide field crews and ensure proper execution.
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth project delivery.

Profile
