Operations Manager | CNC Machining

$120,000 - $150,000/Year

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing operations in our aerospace machining facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-precision machining operations for large engine components, driving efficiency, quality, and safety while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Our client specializes in manufacturing high-precision components for the aerospace industry. Their climate-controlled facility spans over 59,500 square feet of manufacturing space, ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to customers on time and at a competitive price

Description

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the machining facility, including production, scheduling, quality, and maintenance

  • Manage a team of supervisors, engineers, and shop floor staff, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities

  • Ensure all production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met or exceeded

  • Develop and implement operational plans and processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize throughput

  • Maintain compliance with aerospace industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams

  • Analyze production data and KPIs to drive operational decision-making

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization projects

  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital equipment projects to support operational goals

  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork across all levels of the organization

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (preferred)

  • 7+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing management within aerospace, defense, or heavy industrial machining

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, large engine components, and precision manufacturing processes

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence programs

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, production planning, and reporting tools

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, ISO)

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
