Job Requirements of Superintendent - K-12:
The ideal candidate for the Superintendent - K‑12 position brings a solid background in managing education construction projects within fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environments.Candidates should have 5+ years of experience serving as a Superintendent on K‑12 ground‑up and renovation projects, with a proven ability to lead field operations from mobilization through closeout.
A deep understanding of construction sequencing, school district protocols, and multi‑phase academic campus work is essential.
Strong leadership skills are required, including the ability to motivate crews, manage subcontractor performance, and maintain a positive, solution‑oriented presence on the jobsite.
Candidates must be adept at reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, submittals, and technical documentation while ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
Experience coordinating inspections, managing daily logs, and enforcing safety practices is critical, along with a firm commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant jobsite environment.
The Superintendent must be proficient in construction scheduling, with the capability to forecast delays, develop recovery plans, and collaborate closely with project managers on procurement, logistics, and issue resolution.
Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular interaction with subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and school district stakeholders.
The ability to build trust and maintain professional working relationships is a core expectation.
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of safety regulations and industry best practices.
OSHA 30 certification is preferred, along with experience implementing safety plans, leading toolbox talks, and ensuring all onsite personnel follow company and regulatory requirements.
