Project Engineer - Springfield, MA

The Project Engineer will act as a technical liaison, partnering with key OEM customers and internal teams. In this role you will develop systems and designs for specific projects, utilizing AutoCAD, GD&T, CATIA, and SolidWorks.

Description

The Project Engineer will:

• Support the development of various products and systems
• Conduct cost studies for VA/VE proposals.
• Design system and component-level solutions using 3D modeling and 2D drafting tools (CAD software).
• Manage engineering drawing approvals, BOM updates, and specification communication.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and Gantt chart creation.
• Develop and execute verification plans; coordinate lab testing and reporting.
• Collaborate with APQP teams to support mass production launches and quality documentation (e.g., PFMEAs, Control Plans).
• Assist Sales and New Product teams with new business opportunities.
• Perform additional engineering tasks and projects as needed.

Profile

A successful Project Engineer should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience; strong knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiarity with automotive engines/transmissions and AIAG standards preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks); simulation software experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
