Senior Accountant
This Senior Accountant is responsible for managing key financial functions including reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, inventory oversight, and compliance within a manufacturing or operational environment. The position requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on process improvement to support accurate financial decision-making.

Description
Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
Lead the preparation and review of financial reports, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards. -
Cost Accounting:
Analyze product and manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and cost variances. Maintain accurate inventory valuation and contribute to cost optimization efforts. -
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights. -
Inventory Oversight:
Manage the accuracy of inventory records and valuations. Coordinate with supply chain or inventory teams to ensure proper reporting and controls. -
Regulatory Compliance & Controls:
Maintain compliance with accounting policies and financial regulations. Assist with internal and external audits and help strengthen internal control frameworks. -
Efficiency & Process Enhancement:
Evaluate existing accounting workflows and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy across financial operations. -
Cross-Departmental Support:
Collaborate with teams across the organization-such as operations, engineering, and sales-to align financial goals and provide analytical support for decision-making. -
Leadership & Oversight (if applicable):
Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to junior accounting staff or team members, ensuring quality and consistency in financial practices.
Profile
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid background in cost accounting and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Proficiency with Syteline ERP and other financial systems or software.
- Proven ability to analyze data, solve problems, and communicate findings clearly.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage tasks independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performing variance analysis.
- Familiarity with internal controls and supporting external and internal audit processes.
